Mary and Michael – Engagement Session + Wedding – near Asheville, North Carolina

My heart holds a special place for this couple, Mary and Michael.  Oh, how they love each other so!  I adore the way he watches her and the way she looks at him – it is obvious that they have that one-in-a-million true love.  I am so excited that I get to share some of their story and our favorite photos from their e-session and wedding day.

Since they recently moved to Waynesville, we had to adventure around their new hometown for their engagement photo session.  We wandered around downtown and local parks, and got to know each other a little bit more while talking about their wedding and life.  Her engagement ring, previously worn by her grandmother, was given to Michael with the family’s blessing to propose.  I adored getting to spend time with them and their rescue pup!

Mary’s sweet mother has been battling an illness and her awesome daughter has been there for her every step of the way.  As the big day neared, her mom was not feeling up to being at the venue, so a plan to have a small ceremony at mom’s house was put into action.  With a few family and dear friends in attendance, the bride arrived in her grandfather’s flannel shirt, changed into her bridal gown, and they gathered in the living room to have the most heartfelt ceremony.  Mary made her entrance with her mother, surrounded by love and happy tears as they were wed (for the first time that day).  After so many happy moments, lots of hugs and well wishes and with an overjoyed mom resting, we gathered everything and headed to Brahma Ridge for the rest of the wedding day celebration.

Brahma Ridge is a lovely mountain wedding venue tucked in a cove in Candler, not far from where my husband and I are lucky to live.  I have adored getting to capture weddings there over the years, but this one was extra special in all the ways.  I was over the moon photographing all the details that they put so much love into planning – and had an absolute blast spending the day with such wonderful people, capturing it all so they can relive it for years to come.  The colors of the suits, the flowers, even the cove’s lush early summer green complemented the wedding palette perfectly.  It was such a pleasure getting to be the photographer for all this greatness and joy!!

Mary and Michael are so loved because they love so much in all they do!  I hope you enjoy seeing some of our favorite photos from one of the best weddings ever.  Wishing the couple all the best and cannot wait to capture the next chapter!!
