There is a magical castle wedding venue in Asheville, North Carolina named Homewood. For Julie and Richard, an adorably sweet and fun couple, it was the perfect ceremony location for their destination Asheville wedding. The groom was a college roommate remains a dear friend of one of the founders of Catawba Brewery, so the reception had to be at their new South Slope Brewery. Julie loved the idea for the reception, but wanted a romantic ceremony location that she found at Homewood. The elegant ceremony venue was a great contrast to the edgy and industrial brewery for the reception. The ceremony was perfect, everyone was so excited for the big day to be here. After they were official, the party headed to Catawba Brewery for the reception. They celebrated, danced, laughed, and enjoyed being with their favorite people. Lots of Catawba beer was enjoyed and they feasted on BBQ from Buxton Hall. In lieu of a traditional cake, the couple opted for a Vortex doughnut array of deliciousness.
It was such a picturesque day with some of the most lovely people – I just adore all their friends and family…and their vendors were awesome!! I love working with Mary Bell Events – she always works hard to make the day run smoothly and all the details perfectly set. For this day, she teamed up with Nikki of Homewood and Mary of Catawba Brewery, all was perfectly coordinated throughout both venues. The day’s Carolina blue skies complemented the romantic soft pink and purple florals designed by Flowers by Larry. Melissa DeBoer with Pop of Color made the gorgeous bride even more lovely with her magical makeup touch, and her gorgeous hair was designed by Lalena Settlemyre. Tim Lolley, the same minister that married Chris and I, was their officiant – Tim never ceases to amaze me after all these years that his ceremonies are so personal as he seeks to connect to each couple. He was the perfect fit for their ceremony. I am just smitten with all the great people, big love and beauty that were a big part of their perfect wedding day. 🙂
Julie and Richard’s wedding day was such a great time and it was truly my honor to capture it all. So many awesome moments – we are so excited to share some of our favorite images from their awesome celebration!
