This Asheville couple embraced their uniqueness and celebrated it through their engagement session and fun Halloween elopement. It is truly an honor to collaborate with such a creative couple to capture their vision for portraits that celebrate such a special time in their lives. Kat and Patrick did not want the ‘typical’ engagement photos so we went for something that fit their unique style. I still cannot get over all the dynamic locations around Asheville that we visited. From mausoleums covered in ivy, surrounded by huge oaks as the moon rose, to the River Arts District after dark for portraits by the murals and graffiti, we found all the fantastic backdrops for this amazing couple. It all worked out so beautifully.
With COVID postponing the original plan for a Halloween wedding, Kat and Patrick chose to elope on the same date at Fleetwood’s in Asheville – a thrift store, bar, and wedding chapel! Absolutely LOVED getting to be there to photograph the ceremony and meet their best friends. The eclectic details at this venue made for the coolest setting for their wedding ceremony and portraits. So many awesome details to work with there – the disco ball hanging above the ceremony, the graffiti surrounding a display of thrift items, the seasonal fall decor complete with pumpkins/gourds, and a variety of aging classic cars outside! No shortage of photo ops for their one of a kind wedding celebration!
Absolutely thrilled to get to share some of our favorites from their gorgeous photos. This couple is magical!!
I am already looking forward to getting to photograph them again when we get to celebrate this fall on their rescheduled date!!! I am over the moon that they chose me to be their photographer for this awesome time in their lives!
