With great joy, I am happy to share some of our favorite pictures from Simone and Burke’s big day! Simone is such a sweet soul – I met her while volunteering for a non-profit she used to work with and I was thrilled to be able to give back to her by capturing her wedding. The couple chose to exchange vows at the Ulrey’s family home at Twin Oaks Nursery in Mars Hill. I was greeted by the most picturesque covered bridge leading up the mountain onto the property and the sun was shining over clear Carolina blue skies, all indicating this was going to be an extra special wedding day. Simone was a perfect bohemian bride in a purple, gold and cream dress and was wearing a sweet little flower crown that her close, long-time friend Lisa surprised her with via mail. Burke was dressed in a happy spring green shirt – and his joy was evident by the huge smile he wore all day.
They were married by the fireplace, surrounded by their immediate family. The ceremony was officiated by their dear friend, Jose, who they say is responsible for the love-struck couple going on their first date. There was so much joyous laughter and happy sentiment during this special wedding, the house was filled with love! It was a pleasure to get to be there to capture that special moment! After they were wed, we took a little walk through the property before I headed back down the mountain and they headed to their reception drop-in at Donna and Jose’s Hookah Joe’s. Wish I could have been there that night… The couple continued their wedding festivities on Folly Beach where a few friends joined them to celebrate a little more. Simone and Burke tell me that I will be shooting life celebrations for years to come – looking forward to playing together over the years!
In Simone’s words: “I met Cami when she generously donated her time and talent to a non-profit I was working with. We immediately connected and stayed in touch, so when my husband and I became engaged… it was only natural that we’d hire Cami to take some engagement photos. We had such a fun afternoon roaming around the Biltmore Estate playing and giggling with her while she captured the love in a gorgeous setting. As our vows ceremony was approaching, Cami reached out to offer to shoot the afternoon as a wedding gift to us. This gift is one that we are so incredibly grateful for. Cami has such a joyful and generous way about her that makes it easy to just be ‘you’ while she is taking hundreds of pictures of you. She blended in as part of the family and… beautifully and organically brought out and captured the moments. Cami is a big part of our story and with playfulness and a beautiful eye, brings out (and captures) so much love.”
