The first time I met this adorable couple was for their engagement session at the Lake Lure Inn almost a year before the big day. They had originally planned a late December wedding but moved it to the following May and ended up with a spectacular late spring/early summer day. Melissa had visited the Lake Lure area with her family as a child for the most wonderful vacations and knew the area would be an ideal place for all their beloved family and friends to gather. Being a destination wedding, they wanted to make the weekend extra memorable and Lake Lure was the spot. This sweet and GORGEOUS couple was so much fun to capture!! My first impression of how giving and loving these two are was confirmed by their each of their guests. The bridesmaids emerald color dresses were stunning – uniquely wrapped on each of the ladies – the bright greens complementing the blues of the mothers’ dresses. A Perfect Pair floral did a lovely job with the bouquets and boutineers in soft pinks and cream roses adorned with baby’s breath. The men all looked dapper in their black suits – each wore their own and were gifted ties and accessories from the groom. Melissa created the paper flowers that were used on the wedding arbor; she made them the week before the wedding with no plan for where they would end up! This bride was finishing up nursing school and graduated just before the wedding but would not let that deter her from her DIY projects and wedding planning. She admits that her parent’s living room was an explosion of textbooks, scrubs and crafts for the 6 months leading up to the big day. It all came together beautifully!!
Thomas proposed on a rainy day in Charleston in Waterfront Park. They must have been blessed on that day as well as their wedding day as the skies darkened and it started to sprinkle during their reception. Melissa admits to being on edge when it started to rain, but the rainbow that followed confirmed that they had the perfect wedding! It was not a brightly showing rainbow and only appeared for a short time, but we were able to get some fun rainy rainbow photos before it faded. 🙂 Classic beauties with inspired photo ideas and props – balloons for wedding party photos!! Yay! I was thrilled with how their day unfolded and all I was able to capture. I hope you enjoy getting to see some of our favorites!!! Huge congratulations to Melissa and Thomas! Thank you for having me capture such a special time in your lives!!
